Shell Cottage
Shell Cottage is the domicile of Bill, the second oldest of the Weasley-Sons, and his wife Fleur. It stands upon a cliff and has a view of the sea. One can not only breathe the fresh and salty air but hear the sea and the beating of the waves against the rocks.
Into the walls of their cottage, which are of a brilliant white, many mussels are embedded. From there comes the matching name “Shell Cottage”. A wall encircles the garden and separates it from the steep slope.
The flowerbed is beset with white stones, which were originally smoothed by the sea and have plain and rounded down surfaces.
At one end of the garden lies Dobby’s grave between the bushes. Upon it there lies a white stone, in which the words “Here lies Dobby, a free elf” are engraved. Flowers have been planted in the red ground and two jam jars with sea lavender stand at both sides of the grave.
When entering the house, one can see into the living room, which is furnished light-coloured while still standing in the small hallway. Driftwood crackles in the small open fireplace. The room serves also as a dining room and a low-hanging lamp over the table spends additionally light.
The next room is the kitchen, which window face the sea. In the kitchen is also a small table. From here an other door leads into the garden.
When going up the steep stairs one gets into the first floor. From the narrow corridor three doors lead into the bedrooms.
Bill and Fleurs bedroom offers a splendid view of the ocean. The window points to the east, so one can enjoy the sunrise every morning. Here, Fleur has her dressing table with a matching armchair.
Face to face with the great bedroom is the door to a smaller room. Therein stand two beds, who look exactly the same. One of it is farer away from the window. From here one has a view of the garden and Dobby’s grave.
In the third and smallest bedroom is only room for a bed and red curtains made of cotton hang in front of the window. This window points also to the garden.
During the second war against Voldemort a Fidelius charm lies over Shell Cottage. Bill Weasley is the Secret Keeper and gives shelter to Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Dean Thomas, Mr. Ollivander and Griphook for a time.
