Forest of Dean

Forest of Dean

The forest is actually located in Wales, in the west of England. In earlier times it was intended as a hunting ground for the royal family. By now ordinary people can also travel there to relax.
Hermione brings Harry there during their Horcrux search. She knows this place because she was once camping there with her parents.
One night, as he keeps watch, a Patronus appears before Harry in the stature of a doe which leads him away from the tent deep into the forest. He reaches a small frozen pond, in which the sword of Godric Gryffindor had been dumped and only was waiting to be taken by him.
In the vicinity of this, two trees grow very close together, so you can hide well between them. Also a large flat rock under a plane tree provides the perfect place to destroy the locket of Slytherin, a Horcrux. After Ron has rushed to the aid of Harry, Harry firmly holds the gem, while Ron destroys it with the just picked up sword.

In the middle of the forest lies the tranquil town Tutshill, from which the successful and also very popular Quidditch team Tutshill tornadoes hails. Rumours say that the numerous victories of the tornadoes have not always been achieved in a very fair way.
This can be a side blow of the author JK Rowling to the place where she grew up and which she did not keep in a good memory.
